UNION CABINET APPROVED 2% HIKE IN DA FOR CENTRAL GOVT EMPLOYEES
The Union Cabinet approved a 2% hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) for central government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners on April 18, 2026. Effective from January 1, 2026, this increases the DA/DR rate from 58% to 60% of basic pay, benefiting over 11 million people.
