UNION CABINET APPROVED 2% HIKE IN DA FOR CENTRAL GOVT EMPLOYEES

The Union Cabinet  approved a 2% hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) for central government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners on April 18, 2026. Effective from January 1, 2026, this increases the DA/DR rate from 58% to 60% of basic pay, benefiting over 11 million people.

Staff Selection Commission (SSC), New Delhi has issued an important Notice on 23.12.2025 to the candidates of Constable (GD) in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles Examination, 2026 advising them to submit their online application much before the closing date i.e. 31.12.2025 and not to wait till the last date to avoid the possibility of disconnection/ inability or failure to login to the website on account of heavy load on the website during the closing days.

They have been further cautioned that no extension of last date for submission of application shall be granted under any circumstances.
